EHR’s and Mother Nature

In the wake of the destruction left by Hurricane Sandy, we have been forcefully reminded of the value of web-based electronic health record systems (and not just because that is what we do). Thousands of homes and offices were flooded and while we do not know how many were doctor’s offices, we can assume that a portion were just that. Now imagine if those doctors had all their patients’ records in paper form… or even on a computer server in their office?

Not a good image, is it?
That is why we are such strong advocates of web-based electronic health records! While the process of changing from paper to electronic records may seem daunting, we at Inforia try to make the process as simple as possible for our customers. How? Because we replicate each office’s paper-based charting system so the training time and transition to electronic health records is very short.   We also take the worry and cost out because practices don’t need to buy a computer server and they don’t have to remember to back up their patient data regularly.

We know that natural disasters such as Hurricane Sandy are not that common, but our customers can rest assured that all their confidential patient data is securely stored on our cloud-based servers, out of harm’s way.
