EHR’s and Mother Nature
In the wake of the destruction left by Hurricane Sandy, we
have been forcefully reminded of the value of web-based electronic health
record systems (and not just because that is what we do). Thousands of homes
and offices were flooded and while we do not know how many were doctor’s
offices, we can assume that a portion were just that. Now imagine if those
doctors had all their patients’ records in paper form… or even on a computer
server in their office?

Welcome to Inforia Inc.'s New Blog!
Healthcare is
changing in this country every single day – that is a fact that no one can
escape. Often, healthcare news gets complicated and too confusing for the
average consumer to understand, and sometimes even for healthcare
professionals.
So, we are here
to help!
The mission of
this new blog, “Insights from Inforia” is to take the complicated and make it
simple (just like our simple-to-use, yet powerful electronic health records solution).
We want everyone to understand what is going on in the healthcare and health IT
world because it is such an important part of all of our lives.
You’re probably thinking that “Inforia” is a funny name for a medical software company. But here is the simple breakdown: Information + Euphoria = Inforia. We work to make our clients euphoric about documenting and handling their patients' information electronically. We become true partners with each of our clients, and we want to do the same with our readers of this blog.
Our staff
members will be sharing our insights into the complicated world of healthcare
and health IT. However, our insights are nothing without you! Just because the
title of the blog is “Insights from Inforia,” it does not mean we are the only
ones who get a chance to speak. We go first by writing a post, and then it’s your turn! We want to hear your insights
too - whether you agree or disagree, have a question or a concern, or just want
to add a quick comment!
By reading our
blog, we hope that you learn more and stay informed about the healthcare and
health IT worlds. But we also hope that you can teach us. Perspective is always
important, but is hard to have. With this new blog, we are hoping that you will
help us understand what you have to say so we can all better understand the
ever-changing world of Healthcare.

Inforia Inc. Blogging Team
Trust is important for
Inforia Inc. That is why we want to tell you a little bit about ourselves,
otherwise, why would you trust the information we post in this blog?
Ryan Long
Karen Goetz
As Inforia's President and CEO, Karen is responsible
for strategic direction and overall operations of the company. When she became
CEO and majority investor in 2000, her first goal was to acquire and merge
three companies into a new company called Integrated Documents Inc. Over the next
five years, Karen oversaw the transformation of the old-fashioned transcription
company into one using the Internet. The company used the Internet to transport
dictated voice files and return transcribed paperless documents to clients into
an electronic chart. In 2006, Karen began spearheading the second
transformation of the company, and after three years of product development,
the company re-branded itself as Inforia, Inc. In 2009, Inforia Inc. launched
into the market as a full-fledged Electronic Health Record solutions provider.
Karen received Ernst & Young's New York State
Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1999 for her first business venture,
internationally known TicketsLive Corporation, the first ticketing company to
sell tickets live, over the internet. Karen also graduated from the U.S. Small
Business Administration’s Emerging 200 Initiative (e200) class in Nov. 2012.
Stephen Jerome
Steve has been with Inforia since its inception as
Integrated Documents Inc. in 2000. As Operations Manager, Steve manages the
Consulting, Installation and Training Department. He also conducts new EHR
clients’ office workflow evaluations, as well as plans and coordinates the
installation and training so they can Go Live as quickly and effortlessly as
possible. He has spearheaded the development of Inforia’s Meaningful Use
Consulting division and works closely with the software programmers on system
design based upon client feedback.
Ryan Long
As Manager of Software Development, Ryan collaborates
with staff, management, and customers to identify and strategize IT-related
priorities. He is responsible for reviewing and managing all IT projects from inception
to implementation. As manager, he also interviews, hires, and trains new
department staff. Ryan joined Inforia in June 2012, following 11 years at UBS
Wealth Management in the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Group, where
he was most recently at the Director level.
Jennifer Pitt
Jen is our Lead Installer and Trainer and our workflow
specialist. She has a passion for working with Inforia clients until they come
to the “Aha” moment when they finally “get” what she is teaching them. Jen
helps clients understand how much easier their day-to-day job can become with
the implementation of Inforia’s SimpleMed practice management system and
CaregiverDesktop EHR. Jen has been with Inforia for 3 years, and her calm
demeanor and patience are legendary amongst our clients.
Josh Rosales
Josh started
with Inforia in March 2012. As our Customer Service Representative, he has
taken charge of our Help Desk and customer support services. While making
sure our clients remain satisfied on a daily basis, he also assists with
critical projects that continue to move our company forward. Josh’s
excellent problem solving skills, ability to learn quickly, and friendly
